Integrated SNP Analysis: A Crucial Component to Successful Genetic Targeting

Wednesday, January 22, 2020

Single Nucleotide Polymorphisms, or SNPs, affect gene expression and can be influenced by external factors such as the environment, diet, exercise and supplementation to alter and enhance gene expression. Analyzing an individual’s SNP genotype allows targeted therapy to maximize health.

Practitioners need to understand how to transform raw genetic data into a useful, personalized health blueprint that addresses those genes that are truly important. More importantly, they need to understand that phenotype is the product of gene combinations rather than single SNPs. This lecture will review how to translate and integrate the clinically relevant SNPs involved in diet, detoxification, metabolism, exercise and neurochemistry. It will cover how to prioritize SNPs; what their adverse expression means for individual health; how to alter their genetic expression through diet, exercise, HPA axis rebalancing, environmental adjustment and supplementation; and integrate it all together in several case studies that showcase the benefits of genetic interpretation to your practice.

Key highlights:
  • The crucial importance of SNP integration, rather than treating single SNPs when using genetics in your practice
  • Why addressing only a single SNP can actually be disadvantageous to your patients
  • Examples of protocols for SNP integration in detoxification, hormone metabolism, exercise and diet
  • Several case studies showing how to integrate SNPs, and how they can change your practice and your patients’ health
